A Tranquil Southern Escape – Wednesday Review

The Horse Stamp Inn
Seeking a quiet
hideaway to retreat to, I recently journeyed to Waverly, GA to find some much
needed R&R at the luxurious Horse Stamp Inn.
The inviting
images on their website hardly did justice to the arrival experience of turning
down the lane and losing my breath to the iconic entrance of this southern, plantation
style B&B.
The Horse Stamp Inn Epitomizes the Perfect Southern Getaway
Inn Keepers Tom
and Kris Hutcheson greeted my husband and I kindly as old friends, and we
immediately felt like family.
We could have easily
camped out in the 1500 sq ft Sea Biscuit suite all weekend and been very
satisfied watching mascot horse Belle Fleur munching away in her happy
retirement, off our semi private veranda; however, we were intrigued to learn about
the Hutcheson’s and explore the grounds of the Inn.

A short stroll
down the stairs led us to the French provincial style dine in kitchen where we
were refreshed by Tom and Kris with cheese and wine. How could we refuse a
private tour of the grounds? The property seemed like an endless dream, calling
to my inner explorer and urging me to look deeper.
Elegantly Rustic
After our tour
we learned of the Hutcheson’s journey from Colorado to the Georgian Countryside.
They poured out their hearts (and more of that generous wine), and expressed
their vision and passion for setting a stage for meditation, reflection, and
peace. The Horse Stamp Inn is a retreat from the hustle and bustle, a place to
rejuvenate and to find healing.
Look for the signature Horses scattered throughout the interior.

They provide the ideal locale for any elegantly
rustic event, from weddings to reunions. This is a place to find your self
again, to get in touch with that inner voice that we all begin to lose in the
madness of our daily schedule, and make memories you seek to revisit again and again.
It’s as if they had cast a spell meant for all who entered to unwind…hours later,
after Tom’s grilled open faced sandwich’s, and a heated match of Scrabble, we
reluctantly turned in for the night.
The Horse Stamp Inn property was a Pecan Orchard many years ago.
The next
morning, I rose to a peaceful atmosphere created by the utterly exquisite interior
design, paired with the ambient music streaming through the Inn. Eager to start
the day, and working up quite the appetite I headed downstairs through the
warmth of the living area to the kitchen where I was met with a delightful cup
of coffee and signature plate of Kris’s Georgia Peach French Toast.
Georgia Peach French Toast – Perfectly Decadent
Energized by the
morning breeze and that southern comfort food, I decided to take a meandering
stroll through the property, by myself this time.  I started with a special treat of carrots for Ms. Belle
Fleur, who I was told was a rescued horse.  Going where my boots led me I took a photo tour of the property capturing each special detail I wanted to bring home with me, finally topping
off our visit with a relaxing dip in the pool, which was a perfectly refreshing finale’ to our far too brief stay.
Why would you ever want to leave?
The Horse Stamp
Inn is ideal for an elegant escape from the madness or a special date night
with your other half. With private bathrooms in each room including a walk-in
closet, they offer far more than your typical B&B. They are more than an Inn as
relationships are of the highest priority to the Hutcheson’s. An hour away from
Jacksonville, FL and thirty minutes from The Golden Isles (St. Simons, Jekyll
Island, Sea Island, and Little St. Simons), there is plenty to keep you
entertained
In short, a stay
at the Horse Stamp Inn is nothing short a tranquil escape made
complete by true Southern Hospitality.
