Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park is a fun retreat not far from our home base. Locals simply call it Hanna Park. While many of my more out doorsy family friends spent a great amount of their youth hanging out at Hanna, I only have a few memories of going with church groups or for the random wedding. Home to a 60 acre fresh water lake, 20 miles of trails, and 1.5 miles of inviting beach, we decided for our next family adventure we needed to revisit Hanna and see what we’ve been missing out on. $3 dollars gets you in the park with plenty of room to play and enjoy a beautiful Florida spring day.
Munchkin was excited to explore.
We began with a picnic of hummus, tabouli, apples, and cheese.
Next to the giant lake is a large playground with two distinct spaces to play, and a splash pad for kids to cool off in the summer.
A stop along her bike ride to make a wish.
We’ll have to return for a little kayaking in the summer.
Practicing her off roading.
Daddy stole her bike for a downhill sprint to the beach.
Cherishing the moment
Forget shells, let’s collect sea glass.
Searching for sharks teeth.
Fresh air and blue skies put everything in perspective.
There is plenty to do at Hanna, and many new improvements so get out there and get active. Make some family memories you won’t forget.
Enjoy the Journey!
