If you caught News 4 Jax morning show this week you may have seen me dishing on some really exciting social media trends. Here’s the recap on some great ways to earn free food at your favorite local foodie spots all by using social media.

1. Yelp

There are 3 ways to earn great bennies with Yelp. 

– Check in offers

Make sure to use the app and check in whenever you visit a restaurant. Many businesses offer a special offer such as a free drink or a discount of some sort.

– Events

Community events are held monthly, and are open to any yelp user. Check with the app for local events. Also for those who are very active in the Yelp community, you may earn the “Elite” title. This could get you invited to special events where sips and nibbles are offered. 

– Deals

Each business page has the opportunity to offer special deals. Check the businesses profile for these special deals to take advantage of great discounts.

When you dine at Ovinte make sure to take lots of selfies and great food photos. Post to instagram and hashtag #BrunchOnUs . Once a month Ovinte will pick one lucky winner to enjoy Brunch on the house! (You will remember Ovinte was featured on my “Date Night Destinations” blog series)

2. Jaxon Social-

(Featured on my “Best in Brunch” series) Jaxon Social is hosting surprise “Pay for Your Dinner with Instagram” events. Check in regularly to their instagram for specials. When you see the “Pay for Your Dinner with Instagram” image pop up, call and make your reservation right away (seating is limited). Go enjoy dinner and social media it up! You will receive 1 Appetizer, 2 Entrees, and 1 Dessert. Make sure to tip your server! Beverages must be paid for by the guest.
