5 Things You Didn't Know About Amy | Secrets Revealed

I love my readers and always welcome a chance to get to know you better. I was thinking recently that many of you might be interested in some little known facts about myself. I pretty much put it all out there, but I guess there are a few mysteries that could be revealed. So here goes…

5 Things You Didn’t Know About Amy

1. My Ethnicity-
I love being an American, and I love traveling. One thing about being apart of this great melting pot is that I have a pretty diverse ethnic background. It’s not unusual for me during my international travels to be mistaken for a local. Other than maybe Asia or most of Africa, I can blend in pretty well with the culture (with the right attire of course) and love doing just that. For the record, in case you were wondering, my background is made up of mostly Irish/Native American/German.
2. I’m from the country and I like it that way-

If you are also from the country you probably get those lyrics and know just who sings them. Though I’ve grown up mostly on the southern coast, I’m originally from the country. Among other things my dad is a real life cattle farmer, and I could probably tell you more about grazing, grain, and calving season than you’d expect.

3. 7 Years a Spa Girl-
I was an early graduate and went straight into the work force for the family business. My mom owned a Spa that specialized in Body Wraps. I went to vocational school and received my Body Wrap and Aesthetics license practicing for about seven years as a spa professional. This background has been a great foundation for what I do. Not only did I gain insiders knowledge on the service industry, I also learned invaluable lessons on how to run and market a small business.

4. Not Your Average Homeschooler-
I’ve attended public, private, and homeschool. In seventh grade I made the switch to homeschool and excelled so much I completed my schooling two years ahead of my peers. I still maintain this kind of schooling is not for every family, but in my case it did wonders for teaching me to be a self starter, and disciplined enough to do what I needed to do. Most of the old school preconceived ideals of homeschoolers being weird hermits are gone, but I still get a few surprised expressions when folks learn about my high school education.

5. I don’t really cook-
You would think most foodies love cooking. I have a deep abiding respect for the culinary arts and the talented artists who execute their masterpieces on a daily basis. I will play around in the kitchen from time to time, but other than juicing and maybe a great crock pot meal… I’m lacking in this area. Thank goodness I have a husband who enjoys grilling. Maybe when my kiddo is grown and I’m older I’ll take up cooking instead of gardening…

New Travel and Food reviews coming soon!
Until then…
Enjoy the Journey!
