St Augustine is one of Florida’s most iconic destinations. Full of romance, history, and charm, it’s teeming with attractions for all ages. Recently my husband and I escaped for a quick 24 hours in St Augustine. Here’s where to eat, sleep, & play when you plan your next visit to the Oldest City.
The iconic Casa Monica Resort & Spa is a signature landmark of St Augustine. Known for its eclectic art, luxurious accommodations, and central location, the Casa Monica is a must-visit destination. I personally love how at any time of day the music wafting through the resort perfectly sets the mood. I also love that the resort now enjoys access to the Seranata Beach Club. So whether you want to immerse yourself in the city or escape to the beach, the Casa Monica can meet your every whim.
As the signature restaurant of the Casa Monica Resort, Costa Brava enjoys the same ideal location in the center of the Oldest City. Serving up generous portions of Mediterranean fare, Costa Brava is a tasty fine dining destination on a stunning back drop.
Want to bask the day away in the Florida sun, or lounge by the pool with your favorite tropical drink? Head to the Serenata Beach Club for both. As a guest of the Casa Monica you’ll enjoy exclusive access to this locals only beach club. With levels dedicated for families or only adults, you can ensure your visit will be as peaceful or lively as you like.
Just steps away from the Casa Monica sits Le Macaron, one of the best little spots in the city to satiate your sweet tooth. Grab a box of treats and head back to your room for a little R&R while you enjoy European inspired treats like macarons, chocolates, gelato, and candies.
If you’re looking for local artisan fare that reflects the Southern culture head to The Floridian. Known for its Cracker style setting, and generous portions of inspired dishes you’re sure to love the fresh flavors, hand crafted cocktails, and comfy surroundings.
Take a free tour in one of St Augustine’s newest cornerstones, the St Augustine Distillery. It’s here you’ll find them crafting small batch, super premium spirits including rum, gin, bourbon, and even vodka. Located in a restored historic Ice Plant, the Distillery was created by a community of locals with a big vision, and they open their doors daily for visitors to learn all about it.
Aptly named for its location, the Ice Plant is St Augustine Distillery’s symbiotic neighbor. Serving up tasty bar bites (try the pretzel), show-stopping local dishes, and hand crafted cocktails utilizing’ a few of it’s neighbors specialty spirits, the Ice Plant is a destination worth visiting again and again. Visit not just for its tasty fare and cocktails, but for the loads of cool factor this vintage bar is serving up.
Get your fill of historic eye candy with st Augustine’s Old Town Trolleys. Whether you want to your tour romantic, spooky, or glittering with Christmas lights, Old Town Trolley’s has a tour for you. Hitting some of the City’s most notable landmarks Old Town Trolley’s shows you all the sites you want to see, and you might just get some hot chocolate or cider to boot!
The beautiful thing about St Augustine is how a place so historic, and full of character can continue to reinvent itself. Whether you’re getting away for a romantic weekend or headed out for a girls trip, these St Augustine destinations are sure to entertain and inspire.
Enjoy the Journey!
