My Love Affair…
I am in love with pens.

Simply put.
A pen can be so many things.
A tool. A medium. A symbol.
With a pen we make our mark. We change lives. We make history.
We pour out our hearts. We express our deepest emotions. We touch souls.
Leave your legacy
From a very young age I have had a fascination with pens. I began journaling consistently at the age of 13. I was an only child at the time and alone with my thoughts a lot. I began writing as a means of establishing my voice. You can feel so small in the great big world when you are young. I felt destined to be an influencer of some sort, yet ignored by so many. For me writing was a means to begin my legacy. If I could leave some piece of me with those who came after… I wouldn’t disappear.
Put your passion down on paper
Today I have boxes of these journals. I read them from time to time still and am amazed at the depth I find in them. As an adult, my teenage self speaks to me, and reminds me to dream big. She tells me nothing is impossible…. to never give up…. that there is a bigger power in charge… that I cannot do it all myself.
I am reminded, and I am changed, all over again.
Today is a blank page. What will you fill it with?
This year has been full, and good, and challenging. I read my journal entries from early this year, and break through the feelings of being overwhelmed when I see a reminder from myself…

“We rise to the occasion when others are in need, and they believe in us despite our weaknesses.”
or….
“Sometimes you are more prepared than you know with the simple resources and experience you have on hand.”
So True
So to all of you who believe in the power of the pen like I do. Carry on. For you are changing the world. Changing the lives of those who read what you put down…. or maybe, you are changing yourself. Reminding yourself who you really are, and what you really stand for.
Put your passion on paper, and continue the tradition, and the symbol that is the pen.
“It will take a bold step from you today to reach your potential tomorrow.” ~ John Maxwell

Enjoy the Journey!
