Try as I might to lose myself in the monochromatic and desaturated trends of today, I just can’t. I believe in living out loud, and inevitably that translates into my wardrobe in the form of splashes of color in every look. Whether you are as obsessed as I am with bold hues, or trying to incorporate brighter shades into your closet this latest find is an easy choice.
I found this BCBGGeneration dress while browsing Le Tote. If you aren’t familiar with Le Tote, it’s an amazing rental service for clothing and accesories I use to keep my wardrobe fresh. I pay one monthly rate and receive boxes of clothes I customize that I can wear and return or keep at a discount. I can trade in boxes as many times a month as I please, and you’d be shocked how affordable it is. (Bonus! Use code AMYWEST for half off your first month!) Le Tote has been such a life saver as I always need fresh garments for travel, events, on camera work, and of course style inspiration for you guys. I love that this service keeps the clutter down in my closet and saves me money. I’ve been using Le Tote for over a year now and it’s been a huge success for my closet, not to mention my wallet.
I chose this dress because of it’s simple yet eye catching silhouette and vibrant color. The design is a throwback to the late 60’s and early 70’s so it has this fun retro vibe to it. The fabric is lightweight and airy making it a perfect transitional dress for Florida, but it’s definitely designed for cooler weather. I’m a dress girl so this comfy style was definitely my jam.
Because the dress really pops I wanted to add some contrast and balance. Blue always contrasts beautifully with orange so I paired my Coach Tote with it and the effect was stunning. I paired my neutral, over the knee boots and textured hat for some warmth while also layering a few statement necklaces for style. As you might know I recently fell in love with this Jord wood watch and I thought the emerald face played so nicely against the color of the dress that I added it in as well with some stackable bracelets from Natural Life. Finally, I brought in a soft pink lip which I took a risk on and seriously loved it against the burnt orange. Who knew?
